Why are we doing this?

As future environmental engineers, we strive to educate ourselves and those around us on real-world problems to form a sustainable prospective in engineering. Our research is conducted in ways that we develop team problem-solving skills, learn issues that can impact the world around us, and learn project management skills. 

We created this website to serve as an outlet for the public to see our research and presentations on our knowledge and skills of our sustainability problem solving research. Throughout this website, you will be able to learn interactively with presentations, read articles that we used to conduct our research, and explore our own work and knowledge.

Our Background

As undergrad students in the environmental engineering program at the University of Toledo, we hope that you may use this website to explore our research. Content will continue to be added to ensure up-to-date research and knowledge on sustainable practices and how the relate to environmental engineering and our planet as a whole. 

Why should you care?

In our current society, we have many ongoing environmental issues. No longer can we think of these things as problems that we will only have to face in the future. These modules were created to document what these issues are as well as focusing on the methods and types of thinking needed to solve them. Sustainable practices are imperative for the future of our planet. It is up to you to do your part to move our planet to a more sustainable future.

Carbon, Water, and Nitrogen Footprints

As humans, we harm the very planet that we live in to allow us to live with a high affluence. We are beginning to see the effects of our overuse of many fossil fuels  on the planet through climate change, an increase in certain natural disasters, etc.

Ecological Footprints

Our society is making a very large ecological footprint onto the earth. All of the cropland, grazing land, fishing, forestry, carbon, etc. that we require to live our lifestyle is making a very large negative impact on our environment. 

Life-Cycle Assessments

A life cycle assessment measures the environmental aspects and potential impacts from the beginning of the product's life till it is disposed.
